Change the Culture of Research with WASOMI SCHOLARS
Bringing YOUNG PEOPLE closer to EFFECTIVE RESEARCH and EFFECTIVE RESEARCH closer to YOUNG PEOPLE
About Us
Wasomi Scholars is on a mission to bring young people closer to effective research and effective research closer to young people. We focus primarily on the bachelor's and master's students in the developing countries and currently operating in Zanzibar, Tanzania as a pilot area.
We organize events, short courses (including MOOCs) and offer free consultation for students in developing countries who want to be more impactful with their school research, or independent ones. Our approach is mainly based on maximizing the locally available "low-hanging fruits" to bring about change on the global scale. We are also building local repositories for the areas lacking them to simplify Local Priorities Research and other impactful kinds of research.

"The most important thing in effective altruism is that we listen to the people we’re trying to help, and we try to center those people in our decision-making as much as possible. And I think that also implies that we need to listen to them in the research we do."
